The 3AddedMinutes take on the latest transfer talk from around the Premier League.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville believed in-demand striker Benjamin Sesko can continue to improve despite reportedly snubbing interest from Premier League giants Chelsea and Arsenal.

The powerful frontman scored 18 goals in 42 appearances during his first season with Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and that provoked interest from several clubs around Europe. However, just days before heading out on international duty with Slovenia, Sesko confirmed he would remain with the German outfit after he agreed a contract extension that could keep him at the Red Bull Arena until the summer of 2029.

Neville has revealed he is not surprised by interest in Sesko from the Premier League and elsewhere - but believes the striker may well have made a smart move by remaining in the Bundesliga for the foreseeable future. However, he also suggested the forward may only remain in the German top tier for one more season.

He told ITV Football: "Goals, youth (why he's impressive) physically I think we're moving back to having big striker up top - the game seems to have flipped to having big strikers. He's got so much potential, you can see why Premier League clubs want him and why he's staying at Leipzig for another year, to grow without the spotlight that you'd have in the Premier League and develop your game a little bit more."

The 3AM Verdict: After a quiet start to life in Germany, Sesko burst into life and showed real signs of the undoubted quality he possesses as the season wore on. There is no doubt he will make a big move at some point in the future but Neville is right to point out he may well have boosted his own development by committing to his current club rather than looking to move on.

Spurs outcast has ‘plenty of interest’

Ryan Sessegnon’s time at Tottenham Hotspur can probably be described at underwhelming at best.

After moving to Spurs in a reported £23m move from Fulham during the summer of 2019, the former England Under-21 international made just 57 appearances during his five-year stay with the North London club. After undergoing surgery last year and then suffering a hamstring injury, Sessegnon ended the campaign with just seven minutes of first-team football to his name and he will officially leave Spurs when his contract comes to an end later this summer.

Despite the injuries problems that blighted the last 18 months of his time at Spurs, FootballLondon have reported Sessegnon has ‘plenty of interest’ from a number of Premier League clubs and is also being considered by clubs in the Bundesliga.

The 3AM Verdict: There is absolutely no question about Sessegnon’s talent and he has already shown he has the mindset to impress at the highest level. However, he will have to prove his fitness before any club will make him a firm offer this summer.

City ready for Real Madrid battle over South American prospect

How do you improve a squad that has largely dominated English football over the last decade? Pep Guardiola reportedly believes it is by adding one of South America’s most in-demand talents to his Manchester City ranks.

A lot of talk has surrounded whether the former Barcelona manager can retain the services of the likes of Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson and Argentine World Cup winner Julian Alvarez. However, Guardiola remains keen to add to his squad and reports in South America have claimed City are ready to battle with Spanish giants Real Madrid for the signing of River Plate youngster Franco Mastantuono.

The 16-year-old attacking midfielder has already made 18 senior appearances for the Argentine giants and found the net in their Copa Libertadores win over Paraguayan club Libertad in April. River Plate reported want around £10m for their new bright prospect and both City and Real are said to be keen to match their demands.

The 3AM Verdict: City have made a habit of bringing in young talent from elsewhere and have already landed one South American prospect with the £15m capture of Claudio Echeverri. However, they may face a bigger battle to sign Mastantuono if Real are serious with their intentions.
